Stage
1 - The Kirkmerdiven Plateau and waterfalls
The tour
beings early in the morning. A 20 km car drive is taken from the ELBABA
Camping resort to the Elbaba Village. From here, those who wish to horseride
can do so and others can carry on walking with horses. The Elbaba Village
is 5 km away from Kirkmerdiven. Kirkmerdiven is small valley leading
down into the depths of the Munzur Mountains. Kirkmerdiven is also the
blank of the waterfalls. It is famous for its 4 large waterfalls. The
single cloved wild garlic grows here. You can also come across bears,
pheasants and mountain goats. You can picnic here in the afternoon and
return to the resort in the evening.
Stage
2 - The Kepir Plateau
At a height
of 3400 metres and at the peak of the mountains, the kepir Plateau can
be walked in 6-8 hours. One night or, if desired, two nights can be
spent on the plateau. There are 6 crater mountain lakes on the Kepir
plateau. There is a dungeon and caves. It has a high level of oxygen,
many varieties of flowers, white mushrooms and you may be able to come
across wild animals. Each summer, people from the Ovacik Village come
to this plateau with their animals and camp here for 3 months.
Stage
3 - The Mercan Valley (On the Erzincan - Tunceli province boundary)
From the
Elbaba resort a 40 minute car journey and an hours walk will take you
to the source of the Mercan water and its lakes. The abundant flora-fauna
is breathtaking. Like the Munzur River, the Mercan Stream is also renowned
for its trout. Here you can also find walnuts and wild pears and it
is also famous for the Munzur Honey. During the afternoon you can have
a picnic and then continue with the trip. Return to the camp is in the
evening. The Mercan Valley, which is created out of the skirts of the
Munzur Mountain, is 50 km. the Mercan Valley and its stream joins with
the Munzur River.
Stage
4 - The Munzur Valley
The valley
begins in Ovacik and joins with the Pulumur Valley in the city of Tunceli.
The Munzur water flows all along the valley lenght and has the world-famous
red-stopped trout. The valley is 59 km in length with mountains and
forests. There is a main road from Tunceli to Ovacik. The valley has
a wealthy assortment of flora and many types of wild animals. Ovacik
also has trout farming facilities. The Peri Valley, Pulumur Valley,
the Havachur Valley and the Ormanyolu Stream Valley is also located
in Tunceli.
Stage
5 - The Springs (The Starting site of the Munzur Water)
About 40
springs which are found one beside each other along a distance of 300
metres from a very strong river. Picnicking is possible and the surounding
villages are introduced. Short mountain climbing trips can be taken
and return to the camp resort is in the evening. The springs are also
a recreational ground area.

6 - Hot Springs and Spas
The Bagin
Spa : It is located within the town of Mazgirt's Dedebag Village boundaries.
The spa's water temperature is 39 C.
The Harik
Spa : In the district of Nazmiye. The spa's water temperature 39 C.
Large numbers of visitors come here for health reasons.
There are
also the Harchik and Anafatma hot springs.
Stage
7 - The Munzur Mountains
The Munzur
Mountains are the first range of mountains formed in Anatolia around
5 million years ago. It has height of 3420 m. and is richly abundant
in flora-fauna. Amongst the many varieties you can also find healt-promoting
garlic, sprouts, white mushrooms, herbal tea varieties, inverted tulips,
and crater lakes at the peak. There is snow at the peak 12 months of
the year. It is also home to wild animals and birds.
